Languages

Our community is encouraged to use their home and family languages where possible to extend their learning, nurture identity, and strengthen belonging. Bilingualism and multilingualism are key in the development of international mindedness.

English is the language of instruction at Renaissance College.

In the Middle Years Programme, students are required to learn at least two languages; at RCHK it is English and Chinese. MYP language curriculum builds on experiences in language learning that students have gained during their time in the IB Primary Years Programme. MYP students learn Chinese at two subject groups: Language and Literature, and Language Acquisition.
