After-School Activities

Our After-School Activities (ASA) provide an opportunity for students to explore new interests and make friends outside of regular school hours. External providers also offer after-school programmes in our facilities.

Education Outside the Classroom

The Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC) programme encourages experiential learning in a variety of different contexts. We believe in providing our students with an opportunity to experience challenge and adventure, which is an essential part of learning and personal development. The EOTC programme also provides opportunities to transfer and apply learning while connecting with the community. Through these experiences students are encouraged to develop and utilise independence, organisation skills and teamwork while developing an appreciation of nature, and an understanding of others.

Music Ensembles

Through our teacher-led music ensembles, the Performing Arts department develops students’ performance skills while the Music department offers its expertise in wind, brass, and string specialisms. The RCHK Jazz Ensemble teaches improvisation and different styles within Jazz, while Renaissance Strings explores repertoire from World Music, Classical, Baroque, Pop, and Jazz. The RCHK Beginning Band is catered to those who wish to learn the flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, or percussion instruments, while the RCHK Senior Orchestra exposes students to a wide range of musical styles while working on sight reading.

RCHK boasts a comprehensive athletic programme that fields teams in the International School Sports Federation Hong Kong (ISSFHK), the Hong Kong Primary Schools Group (HKPSG), the Hong Kong School Sports Federation (HKSSF), and the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS). To represent the RCHK sports team, the Black Kite, a bird native to Hong Kong, was chosen as the mascot for its qualities of grace, power, and loyalty. The RCHK sports programme is designed to instil values such as teamwork, commitment, leadership, fair play, and a lifelong appreciation of health and fitness in our student athletes.

Our students have the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of sports, including Football, Swimming, Volleyball, Cross Country, Rugby, Cricket, Netball, Basketball, Tennis, Golf, Ball Hockey, Badminton, Track and Field, and Ultimate Frisbee.
